They can come with a smooth glass surface or with decorative imprints. There are twist on lids; two piece lids, plastic lids and some even come with decorative covers. Basically, you will be able to find jars to suit your needs.

Many packages will also come with labels so that you can mark your jams and jellies with helpful information such as ingredients and dates.

Once you jar is empty you will be able to reuse it for other things in your kitchen. However if you are going to be canning with the jar for a second time you will need new lids to ensure that there is a good seal. For reuse, you can remove sticky labels by soaking the jar in warm soapy water and washing the label off.
